LANGUAGE STUDENTS SCHOOL ADMISSION BROCHURE

The overall aim of the teaching is to achieve proficiency in Chinese language of the students and to equip them with well-knit basic knowledge of the language and culturre. What we want to forge is the talent familiar with the cultural background and current situation of China.

Arrangement of Courses and Classes

1. Courses
There are subjects of Chinese language listening, speaking, reading, writing, pronunciation and journals comprehension etc. The classes are divided into several sub-classes according to the Chinese language levels of the new students. Tutorship is arranged for the students to pass the HSK examination with less difficulty. In addition, some courses for special interest is set such as Chinese films and TV programs, computer Chinese input method, multi-media teaching, society research and seminars etc.

2. Standard of Class Division
Level A: beginners with no knowledge of Chinese language
Level B: basic pronunciation knowledge and about 800 words; simple daily-life Chinese speaking
Level C: a vocabulary of around 1500 words and basic sentence patterns; simple daily-life Chinese speaking
Level D: a vocabulary of 2500 words and systematic knowledge of grammar; fluent in daily-life communication
The scale of the classes is of 8-15 students. After enrollment, Chinese levels of the students will be tested and classes are arranged accordingly.

Application Materials

1. Application form
2. Certificate (Official high school certificate and transcript)
3. Financial Support Certificate
4. Copy of “Health Examination for Foreigners”

Application Procedures

All applicants should fill in the “Application Form for Oversea Students for College of Arts and Sciences of Beijing Union University”, and send it (directly, indirectly or via mail) as well as school certificate, financial support certificate, and support letter from financial sponsors and application fee to Oversea Students Administrative Center of Beijing Union University.
Oversea Students Administrative Center will issue Admission Letter of College of Arts and Sciences of Beijing Union University as well as JW202 form which is authorized by Chinese Education Committee to all applicants that accord with admission requirements directly or indirectly. Holding the above two documents, applicants may go to the embassy for X Visa and then arrive at Oversea Students Administrative Center with Admission letter, JW202 form and Health certificate in time.

Short-term student:

Long-term students:

Enrolment fee: 400RMB for each student,200RMB for the second semester

Test and Certificate

Certificate for Completion of Study is bestowed to long-term language students after they finish their study.
Short-term Certificate is bestowed to short-term language students when the learning period comes to the end.
