1. About “X” Visa:

　1) Residence Permit: Foreigners holding “X” Visa should fill in Foreigner Visa and Residence Permit Application Form (sealed by the Overseas Students Office) and within 30 days since arrival, apply for Residence permit at Beijing Exit-and-Entry Administration Division of Public Security Bureau, which needs the original valid Visa, JW202 form, 2 pieces of Visa photos, Admission Notice and Health Certificate issued by Beijing Administration for Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine.
　2) Prolonging Residence Permit: To prolong Residence Permit, overseas students holding Residence Permit should fill in Foreigner Visa and Residence Permit Application Form (sealed by the Overseas Students Office) within the last 10 days of the Permit at Beijing Exit-and-Entry Administration Division of Public Security Bureau, taking valid Visa and Residence Permit. (Notice: It can just be prolonged within one month after the end of the study term at the current school.)

2. About “F” Visa:

　1) Permitted residence time: for foreigners holing “F” Visa, it depends on the arrival date and applied days of stay on the Visa.
　2) Prolonging “F” Visa: In common, foreigners holding “F” Visa should fill in Foreigner Visa and Residence Permit Application Form  (sealed by the Overseas Students Office)  within the last 10 days of the Visa at Beijing Exit-and-Entry Administration Division of Public Security Bureau. (Notice: The prolonged “F” Visa can last 3 months at most every time, and the total should be no longer than 1 year.)

3. About Return Visa:

　Overseas students who go back to their motherlands or other countries (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), should fulfill Return Visa Application (sealed by Overseas Students Centre) within the last 10 days before the leaving date at Beijing Exit-and-Entry Administration Division of Public Security Bureau, taking valid Visa.
　1) Students holding “X” Visa and Residence Permit are allowed to leave and enter China for more than once without Return Visa.
　2) For students holding “F” Visa, procedure of Return Visa Application will automatically cancel the previous Visa, thus the column “Valid Time: from ___Year ___Month___ Day to ___Year ___Month ___Day” should be filled with the exit-date and the last day of validity (in total 3 months at most). Finishing the form, fulfill the procedure of Return Visa Application at Beijing Exit-and-Entry Administration Division of Public Security Bureau, taking valid Visa.

4. changing Visa:

　Foreign Students, who want to change Visas or come to Beijing for study from other universities, should fill in the Foreigner Visa and Residence Permit Application Form (sealed by your Overseas Students Office) and fulfill procedures of changing Residence Permit at Beijing Exit-and-Entry Administration Division of Public Security Bureau, taking valid Visa, JW202 form, Physical Examination Certificate and Visa Changing Application issued by your academies.

5. Notice:

　1) To avoid penalty, foreigners holding “X” Visa should fulfill the Residence Permit Application Form at Beijing Exit-and-Entry Administration Division of Public Security Bureau within 30 days since arrival.
　2) Overseas Students Office should fulfill the Residence Permit Application Form for groups of more than 5 students, and usually the fulfillment time is 7 workdays; otherwise, students should fulfill the Residence Permit Application Form by self at Beijing Exit-and-Entry Administration Division of Public Security Bureau.
