¡¡ Established in 1978£¬ the College of Arts and sciences
of Beijing Union University (former Branch Campus of Peking University
and Renmin University of China) is a comprehensive university, which
cultivates mainly undergraduates with majors covering literature,
natural sciences, history, economics, law, management and so on.
¡¡ Situated by the Xiaoyue River, Xue Yuan Road, Haidian District, the
college of Arts and sciences of Beijing Union University covers an
area of 55,901 square meters. It is equipped with such facilities
as academic building, office building, library, lab building, computer
center, academic lecture hall, language laboratories, and multi-media
laboratory. With elegant buildings amidst exuberant trees and flowers
on the campus, the college provides its students with a quiet and
comfortable environment for study.
¡¡Since its foundation, our college has introduced a group of professors,
associate professors and experts who have made great contribution
in their fields from Peking University, Renmin University and other
key universities of China. They all have doctor¡¯s degrees or master¡¯s
degrees. The structure of the facualty members is reasonable, thus
ensuring the quality of teaching.
¡¡The college possesses ¡°the Lab of Active Material and Functional
Food" a municipal key lab of Beijing, and other influential research
institutes, such as Yenching Research Institute and Olympic Cultural Research Center, etc.
¡¡Our college has been actively developing the international exchanges
and communications, and exploring new ways of International Corporations.
Under the support from the president of the alumni association of
Yenching University, our college has signed the memorandum of cooperation
for running the school with American International Science Education
Service Organization. There have been over sixty foreign experts who
have come to our college and given speeches and lectures to our teachers,
graduates and undergraduates. We have concluded agreements with
Robert Gordon University, the U.K..; the University of New England, U.S.;Hallym University
the Republic of Korea, Wisconsin University, La Crosse, the U.S.,
Oslo University College, Norway and
so on. CAS is also one of the universities which have the right to
enroll overseas students and students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
¡¡The students in CAS are most Beijing citizens. However, we do
have some students' dorms.
Our college attaches great attention to establishing campus culture,
and now we have over twenty students organizations. The recreational
activities on the campus help improve students¡¯ team spirit and the
awareness of building an enterprise through arduous effort.
