On
March 26th, 2007, 10 Swiss students from Zurich Applied Technology
University came to our college for 2-week study. The two
universities established the cooperation relationship in 2004. For 3
years this good relationship has been maintained very well. In 2005
Mr. Yibo Liu, the 1st exchange student from Finance Department of
our college, with his excellent performance and school records, went
to Switzerland to do his second bachelor¡¯s degree. In 2006, Ms. Qiao
Yang, who was the champion of the CCTV English speech contest, went
there as the second exchange student. They sent students to our
college as well.
In the morning of March 27th, 2007, the president Mr. Fanmin Kong
and Ms. Yan Li, the director of the international office, joined the
happy students for a group picture. That day afternoon, the students
visited the Forbidden City, the Tian¡¯ anmen Square and Wang Fujing
shopping street. Ms. Elizabeth Thasan, an English teacher from this
group, told us:¡± The first day¡¯s activity lets me experience a
totally different Beijing from the one in my memory. In Switzerland
I only knew from the newspapers that Beijing was a great city with a
long history. However, when I was here, I felt a completely
different international city.
In 2 weeks the students will study Chinese, traditional martial arts
and calligraphy and visit the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, the
Ming Tombs, the Temple of Heaven and so on. In such a short time
they will not only learn Chinese but also experience the 5000 years¡¯
culture of China.
